Welcome Home Part I: The Office.

Yet again I apologize for being on another blogging hiatus. B and I bought our first home, and after closing in late February, our lives have been traveling at 100 mph. Between packing, moving, getting settled in, business traveling and wedding planning, I haven't been able to find the time to update the interwebs.

We couldn't be more excited about our new home. We are so fortunate to have three times more space than our previous respective apartments, and are excited to add new furniture pieces month-by-month, budget permitting. Although there are still quite a few empty spaces, vacant walls and home improvements in progress, I would love to share a few snippets of some of our reorganized trimmings.

An office is something B and I have never been able to enjoy living on our own. As former big-city apartment dwellers, our offices typically were confined to a space on our kitchen counters or spare tables cramped into our living rooms or bedrooms. The smaller third bedroom tucked away in our new home presented the perfect opportunity to feel a little bit more grown up. After putting on a fresh coat of dove grey paint, we splurged on a new desk from West Elm and filing cabinet from CB2 to help get organized, and added a heartwarming picture we found together at a local shop. With a few extra trimmings from Jayson home and some pieces transitioned from our former abodes, our new office feels almost complete. We now have to brainstorm art pieces to hang above the couch and desk, and I would love to hear your ideas!
