Prints & Proenza

One of my favorite things about Portland is the laid back style. I feel just as trendy in a pair of Nike sneakers and a sports bra as I did in a cocktail dress in NYC. Unfortunately for me there are a plethora of prints and colors to choose from in the aforementioned accessories department. If you're an addict like me, be sure to keep your eyes on Nike Insider for the monthly latest and greatest.

One of my most recent splurges was my new Proenza Schouler wallet. I had been using the same boring brown wallet for probably the last 6 years. I wanted something that made me feel confident when pulling out my billfold to settle up, rather than embarrassed. To celebrate my new [dream] job, I treated myself to my dream wallet (since the dream purse is infinite paychecks away). There's nothing like a crisp and classic pocketbook to make you feel like a grown woman.

This past weekend I enjoyed my new favorite routines - meeting up with friends for a delicious dinner downtown at Clyde Common, a Saturday morning track session and trail run with Stumprunners, bagels at Kenny & Zuke's, exploring new neighborhoods around the different PDX districts, and a long run (and Kara Goucher spotting) in Forest Park on Sunday morning. This is the kind of lifestyle that feels rewarding, and doesn't leave me with regret come Monday morning. There's nothing like breaking a sweat and surrounding yourself with positive energy. It makes for the best weekend ever. I have yet to look back...
