Stopping to Smell the Roses

After a brief and relaxing visit to Bend, my Mom and I made the long journey back west toward Portland. We loaded up on road-trip-worthy snacks at Whole Foods, and made plenty of pit stops along the way to pickup seasonal local produce.

Before settling into our B&B, we visited an Heirloom Rose farm, where they grow hundreds of varieties of roses. It was peacefully tucked amongst the rolling farm scape, and offered so many fragrant varietals to stop and sniff. I guess you could say I really did stop and smell the roses!
