Flowers & Wine Growlers

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! I had a great time over indulging in all the necessary Independence Day fare. I made a strawberry rhubarb pie, sipped on a wine growler from Brooklyn Winery, and grilled to my heart's content.

I'm extremely anxious for this weekend to arrive, as my mom and I are heading out for a girl's trip to Oregon. We plan on spending a couple days in Portland, and then running in a race in wine country before heading out to Bend for a few days, and then returning to enjoy a B&B in the Willamette Valley. I'm looking forward to lots of fresh air, food, fine wine, and quality girl time. Needless to say, the weekend can't get here soon enough!

  1. It is only Monday and you have me craving a day off! Although to be honest, my days off have been filled with home projects!

Sounds like a great fourth and a fantastic upcoming vacation!

  2. I know that you probably have a very detailed itinerary laid out for your trip, but definitely get the apple fritter (or the strawberry apple fritter if they still have it) at VooDoo. It's the size of your head and so good in coffee. Kramer got the Oreo one, but everyone we were with tried the fritter and agreed it was the best. Also the line was huge but it only took 10 minutes and despite all the ~omg tourist trap~ bs it was totally worth it.

    1. okay between you and me - save your money! it's overpriced and mediocre in flavor. It's a very kitsch idea, and I hoped for more given the price.

  5. Your upcoming trip sounds like a BLAST! I loved spending the Fourth in the city but it was so outrageously hot.
