Rainy Days & Cozy Pubs

By the afternoon, Amsterdam's weather left us sopping wet and in need of a drink to warm ourselves. Between the blowing wind, and pelting rain, any cozy pub would fit the bill. When we stumbled upon Cafe Hoppe, we were anxious dry off, sample their vast array beers on tap, and even indulge in a local specialty - Jenever. Cafe Hoppe dates back to the 17th century, and come every evening you can sit back and eavesdrop on conversation amongst the locals whilst sipping the house aged Jenever - a liquor similar to a cross between gin and whiskey that will sneak up on you fast! Stephen and I were able to sneak out into Spui, the plaza where Cafe Hoppe is located, in between drinks and rain clouds to snap a few shots... enjoy (and pardon my disheveled tourist self)!
