Den Hague

Don't forget to vote for yours truly so she can win a VIP package to enjoy before her marathon next month!

{Mauritshuis}
 Before heading home to the Big Apple, we escaped the blustery weather in Amsterdam by catching a train to The Hague. I envy the artwork from Dutch Masters, such as Bosh, Rembradt or Vermeer and used our time in The Netherlands as an excuse to beeline up north to the Mauritshuis to see Girl with a Pearl Earring in person. She certainly holds as many secrets and beauty in her eyes as the Mona Lisa. Marithuis lies along a picturesque pond and is next door to Dutch parliament, and a stones throw from the torrential North Sea. Needless to say, a cozy sweater, warm jacket and a pair of comfy kicks were much needed to brave the cooler temperatures.

  1. Okay------ so in high school I would compete in Model United Nations (quit laughing at me!!!! I went to an international school and I like a good argument, errr compromise!) and we would got to the Hague for our international conference once a year.  I have such FOND FOND memories of that city.  I can't even tell you.... except when I went it was the end of January and it was so cold you thought that with each step your body would succumb to frostbite.  But it really was amazing....
