Last night Stephen and I were fortunate enough to attend a 200th Birthday Celebration for Perrier Jouët hosted by the fabulous Jonny Cigar and Brian Quinn of The Noble Rot. If you have never been to a Noble Rot event before, put it at the top of your to-do list! The hosts are the suavest and most charming gentlemen you will ever meet, and their events are impeccable, from the way the bartender pours your champagne down to the knot in Jonny Cigar's bow-tie (and Great Gatsby in his pocket!).
The evening commenced with a brief conversation with the head Cellar Master of Perrier Jouët. Monsieur Hervé Deschamps. Jonny Cigar moderated the Q&A with Mr. Deschamps with the utmost finesse and suave. Contrary to what I thought, did you know the "T" is pronounced at the end of Jouët? Hearing M. Deschamps speak about the history behind the family brand proved to be a scintillating conversation, and made me so excited to be able to hear firsthand from one of only 7 cellar masters in the world.

It was a fête superbe, brimming with excellent dialogue and glasses overflowing with PJ's Grand Brut, Blason Rosé and Belle Epoque bubbles. The lavish evening was not complete however without endless fabulous fare prepared in front of us by the Bouley Test Kitchen Team, and artisan chocolate handmade by Fine & Raw. I certainly look forward to the next soiree hosted by my favorite self-appointed gentlemen, Jonny and Brian, and I hope to see you there too.
Cheers with a glass of PJ Belle Epoque.
He's not drinking Bollinger, but Stephen was certainly dressed with a license to kill.
