After a two week hiatus, I'm ready to strap on my running shoes again. On Sunday Stephen and I went on a refreshing 5 mile run, exploring DUMBO ("Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass") and Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Pier 1 Park boasts an awesome set of stairs overlooking East River, which is the perfect way to get in some speed and strength conditioning.
With the seasonal weather this weekend, it was fun mapping out our summer plans as we explored this hidden area of Brooklyn. It's refreshing to be in an area of New York that is away from the hustle and bustle and absent of tourists. Stephen and I reflected on our upcoming summer plans, and hope they include lots of time in DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park!
After our run, we relaxed and enjoyed some coconut rice. It was the perfect healthful indulgence after our workout.
