With winter right around the corner, Stephen and I decided to head to Central Park and check out the Autumn Foliage before it was too late this past weekend. Walking around your local park to check out the fall colors is a great way to get some fresh air, and put some miles in all while having fun seeing the sights.
I've also been trying to scout a good volunteer opportunity around the holidays. For the past 2 years, I've been lucky enough to work at the Children's Bureau in Downtown Los Angeles serving Thanksgiving Dinner to lower income families, and now that I live in the Big Apple, this little seed is feinding for an equally rewarding opportunity to serve her community during this time of thanks! Let me know if you know of anything! :-)
I'm starting to put some finishing touches on my Thanksgiving Day menu and am getting really excited. I feel like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthdays are the few days a year I can allow myself to overeat and not feel guilty, and this year is no different! After the 10K Turkey Trot, Stephen and I will really be in the mood for some comforting Turkey Day Grub.
Don't forget - it might not be too late to check out your local fall colors, reserve your local bird, and sign up for a Turkey Trot!
